Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Steps Charity Worldwide gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor Simon and Paul now!

My name is Charlotte, for those of you that don't know me or my little boy Xander, i'll update you.

Xander was born in 2006 with a very rare lower limb abnormality called fibular hemimelia. His right leg is shorter than it should be as his fibular bone did notdevelop nproperly and he has a smaller foot with three toes! We knew nothing of the condition until he was born so it came as a complete shock to the whole family.

We had to wait a long time for a diagnosis, whilst researching I came across a charity called STEPS that provide help, support and advice to families coping with all types of lower limb abnormalities. Particulary, club foot, hip dysplasia and hemimelia. We were relieved to find such great help and their internet based forum has been an absolute life line for me and many other families.

I began fundraising for steps about two years ago, with the the help of many friends and family we have held several very successful events to raise money.

Xander is now nearly three and is doing extremely well, he walks, runs and jumps as well as most toddlers. He wears adapted footwear to compensate for the difference in leg length. He faces many years of painful operations to lengthen his leg but with the help we receive from Steps and it's users i know we'll  get through it.

This year Xanders Uncle Simon and a friend,Paul have agreed to run the Great north run on behalf of steps.

I know money is tight for most at the moment but any donation is most welcome and it really is a fantastic charity to support. There is no other charity in the UK that offers support to children with lower limb abnormalities and we would struggle without it.

If you would like any more information on Steps please have a look at the website or contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for the much needed support.

Charlotte & Xander xx
