About Youth for Christ
How old were you when you became a Christian?
There’s a good chance that you accepted Christ when you were a young person.
In fact, ¾ of Christians (3 out of 4) are converted before their 19th birthday.
The truth is that people are more receptive to the gospel during their childhood and teenage years. After the age of 23, only 15% of people find faith. That’s why Youth for Christ (YFC) are committed to taking the Good News relevantly to EVERY young person in Britain.
Founded by Billy Graham in 1946, YFC use the most cutting-edge tools to communicate the gospel. We go further and go first, using music, theatre, film and sports to connect with teens. YFC are hard at work in classrooms, on football pitches, in town centres, and even inside young offender prisons. Picture a football stadium full of people; YFC reach over 70,000 non-church young people every week.
In addition, YFC have over 60 Local Centres dotted throughout Britain, from the Shetland Islands right down to the Isle of Wight. We contact young people with no connection to Church, including young offenders and youth ‘at risk’.
YFC also support churches, by providing evangelistic holidays and a range of youth group materials, such as Youth Alpha, Rock Solid (11-14), Mettle (14-18) and The Art of Connecting; encouraging peer-to-peer mission and retaining converts through discipleship. Finally, YFC produce resources for schools, on the life and teachings of Jesus and on what Christian's believe. These lessons can be taught by teachers as part of the RE National Curriculum.
We are seeing thousands of lost kids transformed by Jesus, and equipping young Christians for mission. Please will you help us?
Your donation today will go a long way, and you’ll be partnering in this vision to reach a generation of unchurched teens. Thank you.
