Here I was quietly looking forward to a peaceful long hot summer of watching England retake the Ashes (????) , and Messi and Iniesta finally joining Arsenal when against my better judgement I succumbed to Dillon's subtle persuasion (or moral blackmail?) and have agreed to take part in the British 10K London run (about 6 miles….) on 12 July 2009. Whilst not quite a marathon it seems pretty close to me...
The good news is that I am running as part of a carefully selected elite team of 12 on behalf of the Donald Woods Foundation – an excellent charity dedicated to fighting poverty through education health, heritage and community building in some of the most underdeveloped communities in South Africa
