Update: 26 May 2011
Thank you for visiting this page!
Last Friday I attended the Salsa Fix party in Horwich, Manchester, hosted by my wonderful friend DJ Gillian. At very short notice she organised a raffle for the Japan earthquake fundraiser, and the proceeds from it plus extra donations received in London, came to a total of £102.60, which has now been donated to the Japan Society 's earthquake relief fund. My fundraising grand total now stands at £1596 (c. €1850)!
The target of £2500/€3000 doesn't look so unattainable now... my heart-felt thanks to everyone who have chipped in to help!
Love,
Yuno x

Update: 15 May 2011
Thank you for visiting this page!
I attended the Salsology Spring Bash in Manchester this Friday and Mambo con Rumbo's live gig in York last night, and the organisers of these events kindly let me stage my fundraising.
My dance-a-thon at the Salsology bash (http://www.salsology.com/) yielded £110.10 in donations plus 44 dances - not a lot of dances by my standard I'm afraid (there were less than 50 songs played during the entire party!), but I'm donating £1 rather than €1 for each dance this time to make up.
At Saturday's party, organised by a wonderful Yorkshire band Mambo con Rumbo (http://mamboconrumbo.moonfruit.com/), a salsa band made by dancers for dancers, a raffle with prizes kindly donated by Rohan Brown of SalsaFever (http://www.salsafever.co.uk/) and Mrs. Ruth Dinnie (a.k.a. Yuno's mum-in-law) raised a further £80.
So with £234.10 from these two nights (donated to the Japan Society's earthquake relief fund) added to the tally, the offline fundraising total now stands at £963 (c. €1100). Meanwhile, a total of £500 (c. €575) has been raised online through this page so far - meaning a grand total of £1463 (c. €1675)!
Love,
Yuno x

Update: 3 May 2011
Thank you for visiting this page! I am moved by everyone's generosity, which is keeping me going with my fundraising effort.
I'm back from the MamboCity 5 Star Salsa Congress now, and the fundraiser went very well thanks to the organisers Robert & Jean White and the MC of the event, Rohan Brown. I had 244 dances over the weekend (85+83+76), and the dancers generously donated a total of £327.91 + €25!
I will be sending the €25, together with my own contribution of €244, to the Dutch Red Cross, and the £327.91 will be sent to the Japan Society of the UK, who channel all donations received to the ongoing work of voluntary and community organisations (NPOs) working in the most affected prefectures of Japan.
Love,
Yuno x

My target is still 300 dances over the weekend, with an overall fundraising target of 3000 euro / 2500 pounds.
Your support would be most appreciated - thank you! :-)

Update: 21 March 2011
At the Salsa Tipica Weekend, I had 190 dances - 67 on Friday, 72 on Saturday and 51 on Sunday. The parties didn't go on long enough to allow me to hit my target I'm afraid! :-(
At the event venue, I collected €145.30 plus £5 (there were dancers from England at the event), so I am donating a total of €341 to the Dutch Red Cross.
Thank you very much for everyone who has supported my fundraising dance-a-thon through JustGiving! I have added some photos from my dance-a-thon on this page.
I am now thinking about continuing with my fundraising and doing another dance-a-thon at a different salsa event. I will report back :-)
Thank you once again for your warm support and amazing generosity.
Love,
Yuno x

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
You have all seen images from the massive earthquakes and tsuami that claimed so many lives in Japan. As you know, I'm originally from Japan and have my family and friends there. Although nobody I know has died in the earthquake/tsunami as far as I'm aware, I know many people who know someone who's suffering from the devastating effect of the disaster.
I am doing a dance-a-thon at the Salsa Tipica Weekend on 18-20 March (http://www.salsatipica.nl/) in support of the Red Cross's Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Appeal.
I will be donating 1 EUR for every dance I have during the three-night event and hoping to achieve a target of 300 EUR at the end of the weekend. I will also be asking other dancers to make their own contributions and hoping to raise 1000 EUR in total.
Please support my dance-a-thon by making a donation through this page - I've also created a page on the Japanese JustGiving site (http://justgiving.jp/c/3902), and am hoping to raise an equivalent of 100 EUR through each page, making a total of 3000 EUR.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you for your generosity!
