Well what can I say...I turned 30 and started signing up for all these ridiculous challenges knowing fine well how unfit I am!
I work for Macmillan, but I'm not doing all this because I want to get in my boss' good books. I am doing it because the work Macmillan does is simply fantastic. My close friend lost her Mum recently to cancer. She didn't live in England and so did not benefit from the amazing services Macmillan provides. I could not bear the thought of someone else going through all that without the support of Macmillan...and that is why I am trying to give something back.
Some might think that climbing up the Andes, running the York 10K or running the Great North Run is a brave thing to do if you have never done it. Let me tell you, absolutely nothing compares to the courage my friend has shown over the last few months and she will give me inspiration all along the way. All I am asking you to do is put your hand in your pockets and give what you can, and don't forget to giftaid it!
Thank you so much for your support. It really does mean a lot to me. Please note that I am taking donations until the end of 2009!
