Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. As many of you know on Valentine's Day this year whilst walking on Whernside, I slipped and fell 300ft, sustaining a head injury and 3 fractured ribs. There was no mobile phone signal and Jon had to leave me and go for help. 2 strangers - Jon & Kim (now friends) and 23 volunteers from the Cave Rescue Organisation were involved in my journey back down Whernside. Their dedication and team working shone through, even to me in my state! I have chosen this challenge to face my fear of the hills and to make a start at repaying them for letting me see my 40th birthday.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a hiking route starting and ending at Horton-in-Ribblesdale, climbing the three highest peaks in Yorkshire Pen-y-ghent (691m), Whernside (728m) and Ingleborough (723m) - in that order. The total distance walked is around 25 miles, with the aim of completing in less than 12 hours.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Cave Rescue Organisation gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me.
