Story

UPDATE! Oh that terrible mud! We decided to stop at 93km/58miles after 15+ hours of running through a lot of mud due to heavy rain in the preceding 24 hours. As the temperature fell, and the mud deepened, we slowed further and after three more hours of hard work we decided it would be wise to stop to avoid getting dangerously cold. Despite all that it was a wonderful experience and we'd like to say a big thank you to all who've donated so generously. And it's not too late for everybody else to give too! X

Special thanks to Luke, Pete and Peter for being part of the squad, and to Sarah, Alison, Halycon, James, Amanda, Joseph, Jack, Zoe, Rose and Ellen for being part of the indispensable support crew. We couldn't have got anywhere near that far without their help!

On 14th February 2015, we're going to go the extra mile. About 65 extra miles in fact (or 100 kilometres). I shall be running the Swan's Way from Northamptonshire, through Buckinghamshire, and finishing in Streatley on Thames. I'm delighted that my brother in law Pete Leonard, and fellow runner Luke Martino will be joining me for the run (and perhaps some other splendid chaps too).

Here's a little film to give you a taste of what we'll be up to on Valentines Day! http://youtu.be/PKgrTb8vXs8 (Also listed in the gallery below).

It's my great privilege to work at PACE, a charity that works with children with motor disorders such as cerebral palsy. Every day, I am inspired by the determination, the positivity and the resilience of these remarkable young children (and their families) as they work in close partnership with the wonderful and highly skilled PACE team of teachers, therapists and clinicians.

PACE goes the extra mile, and beyond, to help children (just over 100 at the time of writing) with disabilities to fulfil their potential and lead a life of independence and choice.
In 2015, PACE celebrates its 25th Anniversary and this run is in tribute to the children, families and staff that make PACE such an inspiring place.

So my goal is to run 1km and raise £25 for each child. A total goal of £2,500.

Please help by giving as much as you can and help transform the lives of these inspirational children!

Thanks!

Mark
