3 years ago as a eager first time WM of John Brunner
Lodge and on the first of many social nights planned for my tenure. A fresh faced and one of our newly minted Bro’s Rob Wakefield approached me with a great idea, he said!! Looking back it may not have been the best decision to make in a Cuban club on a late Saturday night in Manchester but as a bit of a trend and
we’re most of my best idea’s start off, I pinned my ears back and listened.

As you know by now his suggestion was, HE wanted to do a
Charity skydive. For some reason and this may have something to do with the occasion and lateness of the hour. I heard this Ejits voice telling him, as WM I couldn’t let anybody do something I wasn’t prepared to do myself, What!!!! We roped in the equally daft Charity steward, Mark Dickson and the colonel in chief social affairs, Lynne, my long suffering partner.

Fast forward 3 years to present day and after 6 cancellation due bad weather, plane broken and a 18 month cancellation for Covid. We were finally on the airfield trust up like a couple at a bondage convention, ready to go. Unfortunately due to the logistic of constantly rearranging work schedules we had lost two by this point and it was up to myself and my Bro Rob to step up.

What an Awesome day we had an I’m glad to say, both touch
down safe and sound and the 3 year wait was finally over. There is a very good YouTube clip doing the rounds and you will see the jump in its full glory.

As the Province is in Festival all proceeds from the jump
will be going to the Masonic Charitable Foundation so give Generously or we might have to do something else equally dangerous!!!
