Story
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Anyone who has lost someone to cancer and had the support of MacMillan Cancer Care or Strathcarron Hospice knows only too well how invaluable it is. These places/resources are expensive and worth every penny so it's up to us to help them.
It costs £396 per patient per day in Strathcarron - for our Dad that equates to £3,168 and we doubled it in memory of his twin who died the same year and spent only 4 hours in the Hospice, now £6.336 and then we rounded it up to £7k to cover the breakfasts for all of us while we lived there with dad and to help towards cost of the amazing MacMillan Nurses.
And so the £7k challenge was set and boy did our family and friends rise to the challenge!
Yvonne's colleages had a collection for her 40th and it was doubled by the company - £525 to MacMillan Cancer Support
James' retiral fund - £671 to Strathcarron
Hand crafted cards handed over for sale - £147 value to Strathcarron
Euan and Kev Sommerville did the West Highland Way (very quickly) - £1,428.75 to Strathcarron
Leanne did the Midnight Tiara Walk (and dragged Yvonne round) - £1,258.25 to Strathcarron
Euan and Derek Frank organised a Basketball Tournament and Charity Auction evening (terrific time had by all) - £2,305.75 to Strathcarron & MacMillan
Knitted scarf sold (plenty more knitted scarfs and baby blankets available) - £9.01 to Strathcarron
DVDs sold (Linda Ross) - £20 to Strathcarron
Air Freshners sold (Izzi Reynaud) - £50 to Strathcarron
Thank you to all those who have supported us with this.
Thank you to YOU for reading this far.. well done but the story isn't over...
Now it's Yvonne's turn and she is too lazy to lose weight to jump out of a plane and loves her long hair so if £7k target reached by 1st May, 2013 full head shave takes place on 16th May!
Feel free to contact us on Facebook or email us at sevenkchallenge@hotmail.co.uk with any questions or suggestions to help us reach our target.
