Story
As a school, we are completing a Sponsored Walk and as a Year group we have decided to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Members of our year group have had first-hand experience of loved ones being diagnosed with cancer and this charity has supported these students and their families enormously through extremely difficult times.
As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.
In Year 8, we are hoping to raise at least £320 per form to help this amazing cause. We would be grateful for any donations, big or small, to help us reach this target. To raise this money, we are doing an 8 mile Sponsored Walk in Fancy Dress, with a Fancy Dress theme of “In The 80s”.
We are also going to be carrying a jerry can filled with water on the walk to remind us of the problems that people round the world are still facing today, especially those in our Link School, for even such basic things as getting water.
When you are donating, if you are donating for a specific person in the form, please tell us their name in your message. There are prizes and House Points available for the form who raises the most as well as the individual who raises the most.
Thank you for all your donations and your generosity in sponsoring us J
