Story
Hi folks
I am taking on the 10 in the glen mountainbike race on the 26th of August. The event is a 10 hour race. I am entered as a solo competitor for the event.
Since putting an entry in for this challenge I thought I might aswell raise a few quid for charity. I have selected to raise and donate money to the liver support group in the royal victoria hospital belfast.
The RVH is a liver support group based in Northern Ireland operating throughout the province. It is run totally by a voluntary committee with the help of volunteer liver patients and their carers.
They offer help and support also for patients pre and post liver transplants.
They offer support not only to patients but to their family and friends including children with liver disease.
They support research projects and take every opportunity to help promote awareness in liver disease in all its forms.
My mother is currently on the donor list again for awaiting a 2nd liver transplant following an unsuccesful transplant in 2015 from being diagnosed with liver cancer in 2014
This being the reason I have chosen this charity as it is a charity that has helped my family along with many other families here in Northern Ireland battling liver disease.
As I cant do anything to help peoples health the next best thing is to raise money for the charity ....... And also this gives me an excuse to race something with 2 wheels :-D
Any donation big or small is welcome and I will try my best not to let anyone down in the race.
Many Thanks
Aaron
