We offer vital end of life care and support to local people when they need it most.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm joining my cousin, Matthew Clayton, on a journey to Tanzania in September to conquer the summit of Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest freestanding mountain at 5895m above sea level (which is more than 500m higher than Everest base camp).

We are raising money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice (Dougie Mac).  It is the only adult hospice in North Staffordshire and it gives care and support to patients who are living with cancer and non-cancer life-limiting diseases.  The hospice needs £12m each year to run and relies on the vital continued generosity of supporters.

The Dougie Mac has a very personal relevance to us both as it's where my dad and Matt's mum spent their last days.

I am not asking you to pay for my jolly. For clarity, I've donated the cost of the trip through this page to show that every penny of any donation you are kind enough to give is for Dougie Mac and not for me.

Anything you are able to give will be greatly appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
