On Saturday 22nd September, I and a brave handful will be taking part in the Serpentine swim in Hyde Park. This famous soup is frequented by more wild life than you might ever imagine and they all wish to leave their mark .... The water is crystal green with some appealing brown patches and their is many a tale told and tail seen! Even if there is pouring rain, howling wind and freezing water temperatures, we will be ploughing on. As you may know I am not a regular swimmer and my past history has been established building sand castles and chlorinated pools! Of course I would hope you know I sit on the water in a rowing boat not in it, there is a reason! I have gone for the long slot of a mile which will be long enough in the heated pond! dreaming again!

Funds raised by the Cordwainers Company will support the Alzheimer's Society's Side-by-Side project. This volunteer-led service supports people to get out and about in the community, take part in new activities and build their own social networks, so that they can have a better life with dementia.
