I want to raise money for Health in Mind and to promote positive mental health and wellbeing

To raise funds I plan to shave my head with a number 1 all over on Friday 16th August 2013 at 8pm, the event will take place at Hemma Bar at 73, Holyrood Road, Edinburgh, EH7 4AA. Everyone is welcome to come along and witness the shearing and make a donation. Please also feel free to make your donations here on this website.

I am raising money for Health in Mind because I am aware of the importance of mental wellbeing in all of our daily life. A year ago I experienced a very traumatic accident, which had a big impact on my mobility and dealing with the consequences has also affected my mental health. With a great support of my friends and family I managed to get through this situation. Also, some of my very good friends have had their own struggles in their lives at one point or another, and just like me, had to go through a difficult journey.

I want people to realise the importance of this matter in our lives and society. I would like people to be more open minded about mental issues which can affect anyone at any stage in their life.

I believe that charities like Health in Mind are important in our society to promote positive mental health and support people who struggle with mental disorders.

I’m shaving my head in honor of people who struggle with their mental health and are not afraid to ask for help.
