Story
I will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon 2018
I will be running for the Cardiff University Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Department
Here is what your generous donations will go towards:
Cardiff University Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Department: "Our work spans the lifespan from childhood to old age and includes neurodevelopmental disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism, the major adult psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease and Parkinson's disease"
Their research can contribute to understanding the diseases, treatment and prevention!
Abit about why I decided to do this...
I will be running in October in memory of my Nan, Pauline Davies. Nan sadly passed away 2 years ago after living with Dementia for many years. Nan was a cross-country runner herself and is where I like to think I got my hefty set of lungs from! I will be thinking of her when I need that extra push!
Dementia is an ever growing disease world wide and investing in research is crucial to slowing this disease down. All your support will be hugely appreciated!!
Mental Health is another subject close to my own heart, having suffered from an eating disorder. I am determined to break the stigma around mental health and encourage everyone to speak more openly about how they are feeling. It is ok not to be happy all the time, it is ok to worry, it is ok to feel anxious. But it is not ok to deal with it alone. Talking about my mental health to my friends and family has been the key to the turn around in my life and I could not have got through it without them, and for this I am forever grateful!
Thank you for your donation and visiting my page it is so so gratefully received and I will put everything into preparing for October!!
