Story
Maxwell will celebrate his first birthday in May and we are lucky to have a year full of incredible memories and thoughts for the future.
When Max was only a week old he was rushed to Royal Berks Hospital with breathing difficulties, on arrival not only did the hospital care for our son's needs at every turn but also consider the needs of the frightened, helpless, worried parents.
Over the next week Max spent time in the RBH ICU and John Ratcliffe hospital, attached to drips, wires and receiving numerous tests and medications. Every precaution was taken and consideration to the cause explored.
Luckliy Max made a full recovery and we returned home a week later. I appreciate not everyone is as lucky and often have a longer stay or may never return home as a complete family.
It is for this reason that I am taking on my biggest challenge yet to raise money to ensure the latetst technolgy can be available for babies who need extra support in the first few weeks of their life.
As the saying goes a problem shared is a problem halved, I have coerced my friend Anna Butcher in completing with me and in turn we have dragged Team Physique along for the ride too.
The challenge is a 10k run through muddy fields, up steep hills, through woods, muddy bogs and in excess of 120 obstacles. The training has started in earnest as we started from zero exercise back in January.
