On 14th October I’m going to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London to support Dan’s Fund for Burns. We lost our friend Dan in the Bali bombing of 2002. Since then Polly, his wife of just five weeks at the time and who was badly burned herself that night, has been doing wonderful work supporting burns victims through this charity, building something beautiful and noble from the ashes of a tragedy. It’s a little last minute and until the other day I’d never run more than 10km: it will not be a fancy time. But I shall finish this thing, on all fours if needs be. Knees are overrated anyway. To friends, old team mates, Hong Kongers or kind hearted strangers....any and all donations will be hugely appreciated and go to an extremely good cause. To the Mighty Select, I shall gasp Bohemian Rhapsody over the finish line and into the First Aid Tent if you can get me over the funding target.
