Bruce is an absolutely adorable older black Labrador. For a number of reasons, Bruce's family were not able to keep him, and so he found himself in the care of Labrador Retriever Rescue Southern England. Unfortunately, Bruce also came with a number of health problems that need expensive veterinary treatment.

We agreed to foster Bruce while he receives the veterinary treatment he needs, and LRRSE very kindly agreed to meet the cost of the vet fees. However, since moving in with us, Bruce has settled so well and bonded with us and the rest of our Labradors that we have decided to adopt him. LRRSE have said they will still pay his vet fees, but I want to try and raise the money myself so that LRRSE can help another Labrador in need.  Sadly, and especially at this time of year, older dogs, or dogs with health problems are often dumped or signed over to rescue, in favour of Christmas puppies - who themselves often end up in rescue in the New Year when the novelty has worn off.

In order to raise the money needed, I have set up this Just Giving page and I am also selling some of my jewellery on EBay.
