Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As The temperature continues to dip throughout December, I am choosing to get cold and wet by swimming outdoors every day, to raise valuable funds for the hundreds of homeless women who have no choice about being out in the cold. Thankfully, many find a warm, dry, safe haven at the Marleybone project.
This project is one of the many ways that the charity Church Army help the most vulnerable in society.
I’m doing this fundraiser in memory of my dear friend , Annie O’Connor, who passed away in June age just 41. Annie was an avid fundraiser for Church Army and an inspirational woman.
Annie encouraged me to live life to the full and to make it an adventure, which Wild Swimming certainly is! In one of Annie‘s journals, she had written the words, ‘Don’t just live the length of your life, live the breadth as well.‘ A philosophy that she certainly lived by and one that her untimely death has prompted me to embrace too.
Your donation will enable hundreds of women to begin to understand and to be enabled to live the breadth of their lives.
Thank you.
Love and prayers, Alison
