We send chefs into schools to deliver food education to children

Story

Through our amazingly festive Santa's Grotto we are looking to raise money for a programme that we at Amba Hotel Charing Cross are truly passionate about.

The Chefs Adopt a School programme teaches children about food in a holistic sense - where it comes from, how to cook it and its impact on health and the environment. Professional Chefs and hospitality professionals deliver sessions in the classroom (and sometimes in restaurants or on farms) which range in content from a taste and sensory session to advanced practical cookery and front of house.

Objectives of the Adopt a School Programme:

To introduce children and young people to real, fresh food through an animated approach to tasting

To encourage children to consider food more closely and learn about food provenance

To show children how to grow their own food

To teach basic food preparation skills

To encourage an understanding of the importance of healthy eating
.

We would like to invite families to come and visit Amba Hotel Charing Cross Santa's Grotto to have the opportunity to meet Santa. (appointments must be made in advance) We kindly ask for a donation to be made towards Chefs Adopt a School (Recommended donation; £10)

Thank you and Merry Christmas one and all!
