Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Myself and two of my university friends are running the Simplyhealth Great North Run on 8th September 2019. We are running for NETA: North East Trust for Aphasia. NETA run a clinic in the centre of Newcastle Upon Tyne, supporting individuals living with Aphasia - a condition caused by stroke or traumatic brain injury. Individuals with Aphasia experience difficulties with all aspects of communication and the effects can be profound on an individual’s relationships, self-esteem, mental health and self-confidence.
The NETA centre provides long term support for individuals living with Aphasia and aims to raise public awareness of the condition and what this means for its suffers. As a speech and language therapist student I am currently learning about the condition and the difficulties those affected face. The centre is funded by NETA, who rely heavily on donations to carry out their valuable work.
Any donations would be greatly received by myself, the centre and it’s service users.
