The day after my 37th birthday a dear friend called Maria who is courageously fighting against cancer, inspired me with her story of her running a 5k race to raise money to beat this illness.

For many people fighting cancer, life really is to short and although now nearer 40 than I would like it is time I got off my b-hind and "pushed myself" and took on a challenge that benefitted others.
