Both of us have previously run for Teenage Cancer Trust in 2012 when we did the Macclesfield half marathon.  Having done this and a few half marathons before the distance of this event is not a new challenge.  What is a new challenge, particularly for me, is that this event is in the first half of the year and all my previous running events have been at the end of summer - so winter training and preparation is a whole new experience!  I can't say that it is particularly exciting to a self professed 'fair weather' runner who likes dry weather with little breeze and absolutely NO rain.... but this is what gives me extra drive to push myself for this event.
