Story
Dear all,
At the end of July, I am taking part in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100, a 100-mile cycling challenge following the route used in the London 2012 Olympics. I have previously completed a couple of marathons and naively thought cycling would be an easier option. It’s not, and cycling 100 miles still seems a scary distance, plus training has been hard work in the current exceptionally hot weather conditions, not helped by the bomb cratered condition of my local roads.
As an added incentive to complete my cycle challenge I have decided to raise money for charity and have chosen Child Action Nepal, which a work colleague is a Trustee of. Child Action Nepal raise money to support orphanages in Nepal of a relatively small size (20 to 25 children maximum) with the aim of providing a family atmosphere for the children. They are not funded by any major international organisation, and are wholly reliant on donations, with almost no UK costs so every penny raised makes a real difference and will directly benefit their orphans. More information is available on their web site, http://www.childactionnepal.org.uk/
Many thanks for your support.
Regards
Andrew
