Since first hearing about Burundi from my first school teacher who visited the country in the early 1990s to coming across the work of Simon Guillebaud and Great Lakes Outreach it has always been a place of interest to me. Over the last 14 years I have kept in touch with the amazing work of GLO in the country and supported them where we can. When I heard of the opportunity to go on an adventure cycling across Rwanda it seemed like a great opportunity and  challenge with the goal of raising as much money as possible for the amazing work that goes on there. Hopefully my hip will hold out after recently being diagnosed with arthritis but I look forward to the next few months of training and raising money for this great cause.

The specific projects we are raising money for are J-Life Burundi who serve amongst orphan and widow communities, sharing the love of Jesus and are looking to raise money to rehouse many of them into proper homes. 

Gitega International academy - a school in the country seeking to raise up leaders in the nation.

and thirdly the King's Conference Centre, which is more than just hotel and conference centre but a leading social enterprise in Burundi, which invests in a future of hope, peace and development for Burundi.
