Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last October I decided I needed to find something to do over the coming winter months. I find it particularly difficult during that period. The dark evenings and lack of my hobbies that are typically for the spring and summer months lead to a negative impact on my general mood and well-being, so I needed to change something. Joining my local gym and taking the classes it has on offer has been the most positive move that I have made for my personal well-being in a long time.
Too many people suffer these days with symptoms of mental illness such as depression and anxiety. Some don't even understand why they feel the way they do. Whilst it can be a struggle to get started, exercise can be a good way to help move people out of the endless downward spiral that they find themselves.
So, We as a team have set ourselves the challenge to complete the KernowKiller (www.kernowkiller.co.uk/about-us) on October 26th 2019. This contains a set of 50 obstacles to be scaled over the course of 10 miles. Our training starts in August and we will be publishing progress updates on a weekly basis, along with some tips and ideas that may help those that suffer with this debilitating and invisible illness to get started. It's a complex problem and this will not necessarily help everyone. However, our efforts will be considered worthwhile if we help a few improve their lives through physical fitness whilst this page will hopefully raise some funds for Cornwall MIND that can provide services to help those others.
