Story

On May 29th 2021 I will be participating in the West Highland Way Challenge Race to raise money for Mrs. Murray's Cat & Dog Home.

The West Highland Way Challenge Race is an 96 miles (154.5 km) ultra trail marathon from Fort Williams to Milngavie with 4,480m of ascent. The cut off is 35 hours..... 🙊

I started my running journey in July 2018 when I ran my first 10k. Since then I've ran four marathons (Loch Ness, Athens, Cape Wrath and Berlin) and completed a 53k ultra marathon.

You would think jumping up an additional 100km I would have an intensive training plan but in reality Covid hit. With the nature of my job I have had to endure self isolation four times (three times from oversea travel and one was from testing positive from Covid). Covid has definitely tested my mental endurance, thankfully this is what makes a great ultra runner 😅😂 It got me creative in my training; from focusing on strength and flexibility training at home to running 10k's in my back garden and hotel car parks.

On April the 9th 2021 my dog 'Marshall' who I adopted from Mrs Murray’s Cat & Dog Home crossed the rainbow bridge at the age of 17 🌈 We adopted him when he was 9 months old and he brought so much joy and adventure to our home. I will be running this race in memory of him 🐶

Mrs Murray's is a wonderful charity supporting cats and dogs to find their forever loving homes.

Any donation big or small would be highly appreciated 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Thank you in advance and wish me luck!!! It's going to be one hell of a journey!!!
