Story
Anyone who knows me is aware of my hatred of running. The people who took part in 8 miles 8 pints 2018 will have witnessed this. For those that don’t know, I absolutely hate running and I’m also useless at it.
So I’ve decided to put myself through the pain of said discipline in order to raise money for this fantastic organisation. Along with many other charities they have been hit hard by the pandemic and have had to cancel all open days and visitors for 2020. They play an integral role in breeding programs and conservation projects around the world and have been a huge help in bringing some species of these amazing animals back from the brink of extinction. I highly recommend a visit once COVID restrictions allow it.
My aim is to do 100 miles in the next 30 days. This might not sound much to decent runners but the aforementioned dislike of this particular form of exercise/torture means that every penny that is donated will be hard earned.
Any amount donated is greatly appreciated and put to very good use.
As a fully registered conservation charity, The Big Cat Sanctuary relies on personal big cat experiences, overnight stays and donations to fund its Welfare, Breeding, Education and Conservation work. The COVID-19 virus is already placing a huge amount of pressure on our small team to find funding and continue to provide the best of care for our animals, so we are asking you to please consider donating to our Big Cat Support Fund. It is always our priority to keep our cats happy and healthy, however, it costs us around £3,000 a day to do this, and this is without any funding for vital conservation work! With the closure of our site to all pre-booked personal experiences, overnight stays and events during this pandemic, we need to ask for support. This amount covers cost of food, vet treatment, animal husbandry, bedding and the vital team members we need to care for our animals on a daily basis.
