Story
As a volunteer I have loved getting involved with the Felix Project. The mission of the Felix Project is to take surplus food from their suppliers and deliver it to any charity that helps feed people. It's all nutritious and would otherwise go to waste. Not only that, but it helps fight food poverty and reduces costs for hardworking organisations.
The Chairman of The Evening Standard, Justin Byam Shaw, founded the Felix Project in memory of his son, Felix, who died suddenly from Meningococcal Septicaemia in 2014. Felix was full of compassion for those who didn’t have the same advantages as him in life.
The Felix Project collects surplus food from suppliers and gives it to charities and schools, free of charge. Each week, a small team of staff and over 400 volunteers save almost 30 tonnes of food for around 50,000 people to have good nutritious meals.
I am running the marathon as I would love to make a small contribution to the amazing work the Felix Project does and would really appreciate any donation you can make!
Many thanks,
Anna
