Story

As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with epilepsy in my early twenties. To say this was hard news to receive for myself or my family would be an understatement, particularly as a university student at the time.

Epilepsy is a serious neurological condition that can affect anyone, at any age and from any walk of life. In fact, everyday 87 people are diagnosed.

Whilst for me, learning to cope with epilepsy and addressing certain lifestyle habits has been difficult but do-able, for many others the consequences of an epilepsy diagnosis are severe and for some, seizures can be life threatening, with 1,000 people dying in the UK every year because of epilepsy.

Therefore, on Sunday 28th April I will be running the London Marathon in aid of Epilepsy Action.

Epilepsy Action do amazing work in supporting those with epilepsy, and their families as well as funding life-saving research and raising awareness of the condition – which is critical given so many people still don’t really understand what it is.

So please dig as deep as you can, any sponsorship you can give would be gratefully received - and I’ll be sure to post regular updates on my training.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page,

Annabel
