We aim to find a cure for GBM brain tumours to stop GBM killing 5,000 adults per year

Story

Update:

Sadly my father has passed away on the 14th of August 2019 at 7am. He'll be missed beyond measure. We will always love him.

Although I will be taking a short break from singing to give myself time to heal, I will continue with the shows. It is what he would have wanted.

I will keep you updated. Thanks so much for your compassion.

Love, Anne

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year September my father has been diagnosed with the most aggressive type of brain tumour: glioblastoma multiforme.

This type of tumour is so aggressive that it can be fatal within weeks if untreated. With treatment and a positive prognosis you may have a year to live. To this date has it been non-curable.

My father decided to go for the treatment. He had brain surgery in October and finished his chemo therapy in December.

Ever since then is he extremely bed ridden, sleeps 20 hours a day and is incapable to walk. He doesn't leave the house, he doesn't have enough energy for visitors or even phone calls for longer than 10min.

In the short visits & conversations I've had with him, I found out that apart from his health & medical treatment, there were two main aspects which made him especially sad:

1. Never having a special moment in his life anymore. No reason to dress up, no event to attend, nothing to look forward to.  Also not having the energy to ever be at one. The exact same applies to his hardworking partner (my stepmom) Nicole. Right now she cannot leave the house due to caring for my dad 24/7. She is too afraid to leave him alone.

So I realised that we needed special events. Events my dad & Nicole have to dress up for, but they don't need to physically go to, however are very much expected in a virtual form such as our "Skype Superstars". Therefore the "Anne Sings Her Heart Out" events will always include superstar "Dad On Skype" plus glamorous, elegant and dazzling  themes. If you attend, get your best outfits out. Make it special. If you're interested in coming to one of these events, please let me know and I'll reserve you a table in future time.

2. It also makes him especially sad to feel and lonely and isolated. Even though it is him not wanting to see people or even talk to them (simply due to exhaustion). In the short conversations we can have, I've noticed that it made him especially happy that people are asking about him. The more people, the better. He worries that one day he'll go and no one knows or cared. It makes him happy when I mention that people ask about him. Nicole is a little bit more shy than him, however I'm sure that it would touch her when she sees that people are acknowledging her hard work.

Those special events will give my dad & Nicole the opportunity to see how many people care and are touched by their story, even though they have never met the two.

Apologies, I have written a lot about what my singing events can do for us personally as a family. No cure has been found and we just have to live with what we have available in the present time. All we can do for my dad & his partner Nicole is to show them that they are not alone. No money in the world will change my fathers condition. However our events will definitely give him & Nicole very happy moments in life.

But we can help others which may be affected in future time and in this case we can actually help with money.

There is the smaller charity named Headcase which mainly focuses on the aggressive brain tumour glioblastoma multiforme. They fund research teams which especially focus on this type of brain tumour.

I would love to be able to raise money and support this special charity. Perhaps we can help others who suffer from this horrible condition in future time.

Thanks for your interest, your support, your help, your everything.

Anne
