Story
In 2005, inspired by the brilliant Oz Bayldon's efforts (Guinness Book of Records holder for the Worlds Highest Gig - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/4403760.stm)
to raise money to build a shelter in Nepal to provide urgent housing and support for young girls left homeless or without family following the civil war in the country, together with my own visit to the country, I ran the New York marathon in order to make a contribution to the building and establishment costs.
The shelter was subsequently built and has provided much needed support for a group of young girls who would otherwise have nowhere to go. It has and continues to provide essential food, housing, security, even much- needed self-defence lessons and is now set close to a large school which the girls attend.
In the last decade the shelter has now expanded from 10 to 21 girls - however fundraising to maintain it has been significantly affected by the Covid pandemic through 2020 leaving it in dire need of funding.
I had originally planned to run the Chicago marathon this October for them - this has now been delayed - as a result I will be doing the following:
i/ The Chicago virtual half-marathon in October.
ii/ Trek to Everest Base Camp in November.
iii/ The Chicago full marathon (Covid-permitting) in 2021.

I would be extremely grateful for any and all support that you can provide - this is a small charity for which any contribution will make a significant difference, and these children's lives will be impacted most positively.
Thank you so much
