I lost my grandad in 2012 and my great grandma earlier this year both were COPD sufferers. The british lung foundation provided useful support with exercise around the condition. The condition caused my grandad to experience a massive deterioration over a very short period of time. He went from a fit and healthy man who had worked hard all his life in a building career progressing onto a teaching career to man who needed an oxygen tank twenty four hours a day. He suffered from a range of mental health issues around the condition and experienced anxiety on a daily basis. The condition rapidly caused muscle deterioration alongside various other implications. My grandad's lifestyle was impacted on greatly and he suffered with uncountable hospital admissions. Any money raised can provide support to other sufferers and enhance research around COPD and other lung related diseases.
