Story

The Garden Makeover is now complete and the outdoor toys and equipment have arrived! What an amazing tranformation and difference I'm sure this will make for all the children that will receive treatment in the coming years. Thank you so much to everyone for the kind donations made on my Just Giving page and the pound-for-pound funding raised by Barclays Bank. The clinicians and patients at the Alice Ward were so appreciative of the work and fundraising. I know we've made a real difference to so many people there.

My Fundraising Event

I completed the Sandbach Striders 10km run on Sunday 16th October 2011 with a personal best of 53:14. The support everyone has given will go a long way to purchasing the much needed developmental toys and equipment for a Childrens Ward that have provided a great service to my daughter.

Why The 'Alice' Ward at RJAH?

I was inspired by my 2 year old daughter, who was referred to the ‘Alice’ Children’s Ward at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital in Oswestry, when she was just 8 weeks old. Georgia was diagnosed with DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip), we didn't know much about the condition and had no idea what sort of help or support was available. Georgia was fitted with a hip spica, which is a body plaster that covered her from chest to toe for 4 months, when she was 5 months old. Following this Georgia was fitted with a splint for a further 4 months. All the staff on the Alice Ward were very supportive during her treatment and have done so much for us, now it's time I did something for them.
