I'm cycling from Barry, the home of Ty Hapus to Barcelona.

Ty Hapus provides a unique and specialist day time service for people with early onset Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, focusing on those diagnosed under 65 and their families.

Ty Hapus is a unique charity in that we work with the Alzheimer's Society to provide day time support to those with dementia and their carers and loved ones. Dementia can have a devastating effect on families, and all too often care has to be given not only to those suffering from Alzheimer's and other dementias, but also to the carers and loved ones supporting them.

As well as offering daily respite for those suffering with early onset, in an age appropriate, dignified and beautiful environment in a refurbished Edwardian Doctor's Surgery in Barry, Ty Hapus also has the Moondance Café attached to the daily respite project, which offers a wonderful facility to those of any age with dementia, and their families.

The Moondance Café offers a calm, safe and comfortable environment with daily newspapers. magazines and board games. For others, it is a safe quiet place for those with dementia and their families to sit with a tea or a coffee.

There is also a Well Being room with a small but beautiful hairdressing and beauty salon where independent therapists can offer our guests extra special services.
