On the 1st September I will be abseiling 200ft down the side of the Holiday Inn Express in Birmingham City Centre. I have never abseiled before so this should be interesting! I am doing this for two very good charities. M.A.D Birmingham and COPS, one local one and one that supports the families of people who have lost loved ones.

COPS is a UK registered charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers
who have lost their lives on duty and to rebuild their lives.
It aims to ensure that survivors have all the help they need to cope with such a
tragedy.

M.A.D Birmingham is a youth engagement programme which uses activities, such as
sport, to tackle social issues. Young people from some of Birmingham's communities that aren't always given a chance now have the opportunity to express themselves thanks to a funding boost from Big Lottery and Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

The M.A.D programme includes a 'VAN' load of activities and resources for music
production, video filming and editing, games consoles and sports equipment.
They offer a host of opportunities, including street football, badminton, table
tennis and much more.
