Story
St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's ONLY adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses. Our commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. All of our care is provided free of charge, but it costs us around £20,000 a day to provide that care. For most of this money we rely on Gifts in Wills, donations, fundraising and our shops.
Through the Room to Care appeal, St Peter's Hospice is aiming to develop its Inpatient Unit to meet the more acute clinical needs of patients, changes in palliative care and to make the stay more comfortable for patients, families and friends.
My employer, Womble Bond Dickinson, and I are aiming to raise £80,000 over 2017 and 2018 to support the Room to Care appeal. In 2016, Robert Pope, a former colleague of mine, passed away. He spent his final days receiving the outstanding care offered by St Peter's Hospice. By raising £80,000, we will cover the cost of the conversion of one room at the hospice and help St Peter's Hospice to provide 275 more bed days per year to those who need them most.
