Equality Now is an international women's rights organization working to ensure women and men are treated equally. A country’s laws set the tone for how it treats its people, and how its people treat each other. When women and girls have fewer rights than men and boys, violence and discrimination are legitimized and ignored. They campaign to end: child marriage, sexual violence and exploitation; female genital mutilation and for women to be treated equally to men in all laws.

This cause is important to me because I have a strong appreciation for diversity. Every day I surround myself with friends of diverse races, gender identities, ethnicities, and more. This makes it very important to me that all girls and women have the same opportunities and rights and are treated with respect.
