Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have taken leave of my senses for what I believe is a very good cause.

The challenge of completing the Staffordshire Ironman 70.3 triathlon was on, a challenge that will push me both physically and mentally found, and on August 29th 2018, it all became real and the training started.

1.2 miles of open water swimming, 56 miles on the bike and then a half marathon was the mountain that would stand in my way. A walk in the park for some, but not for me, I hadn't run in 30 odd years, swam in any capacity for 18 years and only started cycling in January 2018. This presented a big challenge.

The only reason I would normally get out of bed on a cold winters morning is to walk my Patterdale Terrier Stella. I needed more - so to do it for the dogs at Birmingham Dogs Home gave me the perfect motivation.

And so the story begins.........
