In January 2013 our colleague Jon Peache sadly passed away after losing the fight against bowel cancer. Jon was part of the Private Client Services (PCS) department at BDO. In his memory, PCS held a 5k charity run in Regent's Park in 2013 and Hyde Park in 2014.

This year we are once again running in Jon's memory, but instead of taking the challenge individually, we will be running together. Teams of six will be completing in a 6k team relay around Hyde Park!

This year's run will take place on the afternoon of 23 September 2015 in Hyde Park. Participants will be dressed in fancy dress. Spectators are more than welcome to come along and cheer us on!

All the money raised will be donated to the Bobby Moore Fund, part of Cancer Research UK, which is committed to finding a cure for bowel cancer.

Bowel cancer is the second most common cancer in the UK, claiming over 15,000 lives every year. Early detection is vital; more than 9 out of 10 people survive the disease when spotted at its earliest stage, however only 1 in 10 people are actually diagnosed at this stage. The Bobby Moore Foundation is therefore conducting research into techniques that can help detect the disease at its earliest stage with a team of researchers at Imperial College London leading the project. Research is also being conducted into reducing the risk of developing bowel cancer, techniques and drugs used to treat bowel cancer and studies into the genetics of bowel cancer.
