Story
We are a team of ten students in the Upper Sixth at Bristol Grammar School and, supported by three teachers, we spent 25 days in Morocco in the summer. While there we did 14 days trekking, climbed Toubkal, the highest point in North Africa, rode camels and we also had a chance to see, first hand, the work of Education for All in Morocco and the work of many students before us.
It was the month of Ramadan during our visit and, in a Muslim country, this means no eating or drinking during daylight hours. It was a very eye-opening cultural experience for all of us. We are committing to this fast out of admiration for the discipline and sense of community we saw amongst our Moroccan guides during Ramadan.
On Monday the 17th of November we will begin fasting and observe the morals and practices of Ramadan until sunset on Friday the 21st when we will have a large feast to celebrate.
Any donations we receive will go straight to Education for All in Morocco and support the wonderful work they do there. We saw how their projects have progressed already but they're far from over so any donation is very gratefully received.
