We are the only UK charity working to improve lives by creating greener cities
Story
On Saturday 19 September a number of colleagues from the British Museum took part in this year’s London Treeathlon, a 5km run raising money for the Trees for Cities charity.
Trees for Cities aims to provide more ‘green’ spaces in urban environments and you can find out more about the event and Trees for Cities via the following link: http://www.tree-athlon.org/index/
Each individual has raised money independently for the Trees for Cities charity, however this page has also been established for colleagues to pledge collective support to the team.
Please note that while the individuals did not officially represent the Museum in the event, the Museum did devote some resource to organising the ‘team entry’ in line with the ongoing sustainable development programme.
We plant urban trees in parks, streets, schools and housing estates across the UK, as well as internationally, revitalising these areas and improving the lives of the people who live in them. We strengthen communities through volunteering opportunities and inspire children to grow and eat good food.
