Story
We are delighted to be supporting free@last as our “Charity of the Year”.
Free@last aims to improve the lives of the children and young people in Nechells, and in order to achieve this they work with the families and the whole community to bring forth change. In a community that is so impoverished and disadvantaged as a huge strategy is required to tackle the huge problem, hence why there is a poverty strategy to eradicate child poverty – which free@last believe they WILL achieve.
As an innovative organisation free@last believe in creating their own fate and bringing people along for the ride, as they journey together to make a significant difference in the childrens’ lives. Free@last is 19 years old and was started by John Street and his wife meaning it is a very family orientated organisation and very locally based.
Supporting free@last means we can support children and young people living in poverty in a variety of ways – from helping them to promote their poverty strategy to buying 3D printers for their Entrepreneurial Workshop which children start their own businesses.
There are many different ideas for working with free@last and we are very excited to be supporting such a great cause.
