More than 150 miles of activity done, involving blood, sweat and tears. During the last few miles of the Funchal Marathon, where Dad enjoyed so many afternoons over the years, I remembered one of his famous lines: 'you've started so you'll finish'. Thanks Dad for everything !
Thanks also to those who helped, challenged and donated to the cause. And thanks to Kerry at St Luke's for all of the encouragement along the way.
A little note to highlight what St Luke's Hospice does. In the time Dad was at home, he was visited by 43 nurses who helped in a way which our family could not. The nurses also advised, comforted and consoled us along the way. Dad got a kiss from most of the nurses and continued to entertain us even when in great distress.
The hospice starts each year facing a running cost of 5.5m GBP, so the generosity which we are giving here goes some way to contributing to their efforts to provide people with life-threatening illness as comfortable life as possible.
Please help spread the word. Thanks again,
Pete Andrade
