In recent weeks, the plight of those affected by the conflict in Syria has made international news, with hundreds of thousands of people fleeing the fighting, either to temporary camps in neighbouring countries, or crossing the Mediterranean into Europe. The crisis is quickly becoming the worst humanitarian crisis since World War II. Many people have donated money other items to help those who have made it to Europe. 

Now it's our turn.

On 23rd October, staff and students from Lancaster University are putting on an event in Lonsdale College, to raise money for those affected by the crisis. The event will feature music, talks and regional food. With a full lineup to be announced in the coming days, the event is pleased to feature:

• Dr PPR's Only Part Time Band 
  
• Professor Christopher May as MC and DJ.

We've also set up this JustGiving page for those who would like to donate to the cause but are unable to come to the event.  If you would like to support us, all donations are very much appreciated.
