Story

A Tri’ing Summer

One Summer; Three Countries; Five Triathlons; 270km of swimming, cycling and running!

I am raising money for a wonderful charity called Headlines.  The charity supports families affected by rare craniofacial conditions, through a helpline, social events and supporting research.

We became involved with Headlines when our son Frankie was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis in 2017 just after he was born.  The condition leads to the premature fusing of the plates in the skull.  Frankie had surgery at Alder Hey hospital to re-shape his skull at five months old and I am pleased to say he is now doing great.

Headlines were there for us when we first received the diagnosis and gave invaluable advice and guidance and put us in touch with other parents in the same situation.  I am now a Trustee of Headlines and have decided to do a Triathlon challenge over the summer to raise much needed funds for a small charity that is only funded through public donations.

Over the summer I am going to do the Castle Series Olympic triathlons which involves 5 triathlons in three countries (UK, Ireland and France).  Over the series I will swim 8K, ride 212K, and run 50K so should be pretty challenging! Any donation gratefully received for this worthy cause,

Thank you

Barry
