Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page set in memory of Barry Blackwell. A much loved husband, Dad, Grandad, family member and dear friend to all of us.

Barry was sadly and suddenly taken from us following a short illness of Cholangiocarcinoma (or bile duct cancer). This form of cancer is considered rare and very little research has previously been undertaken into this disease. It can lay dormant in the body for 4-5 years and once triggered the cancer can spread rapidly through the body and is regrettably incurable.

We are continuing to raise money in memory of our Papa Bear with Mayson and Laicee competing in the Super Hero Fun Run in Milton Keynes on Monday 5th May 2015.  We would love for you to sponsor Mayson and Laicee who have both been training really hard with their mummies and all monies raised will go straight to AMMF, the only registered charity in the UK working to raise funds for research into cholangiocarcinoma, a liver cancer occurring within the bile ducts.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving and will never be shared. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to AMMF and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. We feel this is the easiest and quickest way to donate.
