Mental Health is often stigmatised, and some of those who suffer from it (over half of the UK population at any one time) find it difficult to reach out and ask for vital support. 
There is a fundamental lack of public understanding into mental health, due to research and education not being thoroughly invested in - and we want to change that. 

As with all companies and organisations, there are colleagues and friends among us at BaseKit who suffer from mental health issues, and who therefore actively support the work that Bristol Mind do to help raise awareness of this social issue.

Together as a team we have chosen Bristol Mind as our charity of the year. We feel it is important to support and promote a better understand of mental health in and around the local Bristol area, and we hope to encourage other businesses to do the same. 

Bristol Mind (right next to the BaseKit office in Old Market) provide invaluable help and information to anyone suffering with mental health issues, those who are indirectly affected and wish to offer support, or those who simply want to learn more about it.
