Story

Thank you very much for visiting the Just Giving page for the Battlefield 4 Bunny Marathon we are doing in collaboration with The Little Board Game Café in Stranmillis Belfast: https://www.facebook.com/LittleBoardGameCafe

For those of you that don’t know, Battlefield 4 is a video game where you play as a soldier, working as part of a team to defeat the enemy in battle, which is done with cooperative play and team work. The idea for this marathon is that we are going to play solidly for 24hours (except for recommended breaks of 20mins every few hours and toilet breaks) so we will be awake for a total of about 26 hours starting at 11am on Saturday the 14 of December and finishing on Sunday the 15 of December at around 1 or 2pm.

So where do the bunnies fit in? Well in conjunction with our event Teresa McLaughlin, who draws bunny comics over at Cat vs Bunnies check them out at: http://catsvsbunnies.wordpress.com, will be making a 24 hour bunny comic on the theme of war, she will be writing, drawing and posting the comic strip making it in a grand total of 24 hours.

So why Children in Crossfire? Well they are a local charity trying to help children in war torn countries, and as I for one spend a lot of my free time playing violent video games and watching movies that glorify war it makes sense to remember how terrible and horrifying war is in reality. You can read about what Children in Cross Fire do on their website: http://www.childrenincrossfire.org/home

But why donate to us for playing video games/ making comics? Well the marathon will consist of myself (Chris), Jock Kevin, Crazy Kevin and Hawaiian Dan and we will be awake, physically active (all be it in small ways just moving hands and fingers etc) and in constant communication with each other for over 24 hours and lets face it that is enough to take it out of anyone. And whilst we are doing that Teresa will be slogging away sketching and making a comic in just 24 hours, not an easy task. Here’s a wee fun video about sleep to give you an idea of what we will be going through :)

Well that’s my pitch, thank you very much for taking the time to read it, I hope you donate something to our cause and enjoy the posts we will be putting up about the event on The Little Board Game Café Facebook page and of course the final comic strip that will be available on Monday the 16 of December over at Cat vs Bunnies.
