RedR train life-savers. They give people the skills to prepare for, and respond to, major disasters like earthquakes, floods, conflict and drought.  Their practical training and expert support means that communities won’t be beaten by disasters.

Among other causes, they are currently focused on the East Africa food crisis where an estimated 16 million people in four countries are at risk of starvation. Famine has already been declared in parts of South Sudan.  

Their work involves training aid workers in areas such as logistics, WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene), nutrition, health, transitional shelter, and camp management - all essential elements of the response to a crisis of this nature.

Beales charity activities are championed by our fundraising team, The Buns of Steel.  The team regularly organise charity activities for example pub quizzes, baking competitions, raffles and a biennial physical challenge which has included the 6 Peaks Challenge in the Lake District, the 3 Peaks Challenge in Yorkshire and a 12km assault course in Tunbridge Wells.
